Top 12 for 2012

So many people are sharing their top picks for 2012 so I went through my cards....I made over 300 cards this year!

So here are my favourites

January
Double Trouble

This one was for my friend's daughter who was expecting twins.  She knew she was having a boy and and girl....

February
Vintage Label.

Just loved this vintage look.

March
Birthday Kisses for Sophie

This was for my great niece.  Such a sweet image from Mo Manning

April
Birthday wishes

Love the combination of the colours... something a bit unusual

May
Of corsets your birthday!

Found the perfect sentiment to go with the dress form stamp.

June
Little Black Dress

Love the simplicity of this card.

July
Make a wish

This reminded me of my childhood... Sarah Kay was very in then!

August
Happy Day

Using some new dies.  Loved the PP on this one

September
Butterfly

Once again, the papers drew me with this card.

October
Shall I play for you?

Another gorgeous Mo Manning image.  I loved this little bloke and used him a few times.

November
Holly Hobbie Easel card

This has to be one of my favourites of the whole year.  It just seem to come together perfectly.

December
Little Elf Mim

I love Mo's images as you can see, and was pleased how this one finished up.  Loved the texture I got with the embossed background.

Well that's my year... I actually liked a lot of the cards I made this year so it was hard to choose these ones to highlight.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all my followers and those who comment for their support this year.  You are all so lovely to take time to visit. So to all of you and to my fellow design team members at Mygrafico and Red Carpet Studio.... best wishes for a successful and happy 2013

"Charlie and The Chocolate Factory" @ Red Carpet Studio

This week over at Red Carpet Studio we are having a combined Layout team and Card team challenge... Anything Goes as long as it includes something Sweet... think cakes, cupcakes, cookies, candy etc... a Layout, a card, 3D project, altered item....   Do pop over to the blog to have a look at the exciting projects the teams have created.  And have a peek at what you could win over on our Facebook page.

Our sponsor for our challenge this week is Vampire Craftin and you could win a blog makeover

So on to my creation this week.  I went with a cupcake card....

I found this yummy looking PP in my stash and the beautiful ribbon came around a gift.  I used some Cupcakes from Inkadinkado which I coloured and cut so I could layer onto the Spellbinders die.  I had sponged the background with the die still in place, with Spun Sugar distressed ink.  Added some stickles to the icing on the cupcakes.

Do hope you will join us with our "Sweet" challenge.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

I found out about this challenge on Watermarks ( aka Maureen Morton) blog.    Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge blog has a fabulous photo inspiration challenge this week.  Here is the inspiration photo

I don't have any Paper Smooches stamps, but they do have some freebie digi images which you can use.  I took my inspiration from the white on white words and the touch of blue.

I used a Simon Says Stamp die for the words and the flower.  The heart is from Spellbinders.  I printed the Paper Smooches digi, coloured with Copics and cut them out.  The middle one is popped up for dimension.   Added some pearls in the centre of the flowers.

Today is my parents 56th Wedding Anniversary.  We took them to Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium this afternoon and then out to dinner this evening.

Nearly New Years so hope 2012 has been good to you and all the best for 2013

My Five Favourite Christmas Cards

It's Boxing Day here in NZ... a public holiday for the day after Christmas and a day of SALES!  Around 11am I went out with my son to go to Vodaphone  to sort out a new plan for a Smart Phone.   I have acquired an iPhone 3 and needed to sort it out... so off we went to Albany Mall.... OMG I think every person left in Auckland was there!!!!!!!  Not a car park to be found so we just drove back home and then headed off to Takapuna.  It was not nearly as bad.  But still an half an hour wait in the queue.  All sorted now so I'm happy.

So onto checking out my 5 favourite Christmas cards for 2012.   Debby (A Scrapjourney) is having a little giveaway

Drummer Boy #2

Love this digi image from Mo's Digital Pencil and used it for a number of cards this year

Pink and Girly Christmas

Another Mo's image for this girly Christmas card.

Red Poinsettia

A number of variations were made on this card with different coloured flowers and sentiments.

Joy

Yet another Mo's image.  Can you tell I really love them?

Holly Hobbie Easel card

This one is the one I really like the most.  I was so pleased with how it turned out.

Hope you enjoyed this little look at my favourite Christmas cards.

And that you have a great day yesterday.  I did.... I got some lovely gifts from my family including a pasta maker and a new cookbook... so some new meals will be coming out of my kitchen in the near future.

Some Eye candy from Mygrafico

This week the team over at Mygrafico have a lot of eye candy for your inspiration.  We have all used a variety of images from the shop... some freebies as well.  For my card, I used two Mygrafico sets and a digital sentiment from Whimsy Stamps

The two sets I used from Mygrafico are: Santa Claus from Pixel Paper Prints for my background dotted paper and Nutcracker Suite Frames and Labels from DreAm Loft.   I added a Poinsettia made with Spellbinders die and edged with silver distress stain. Add a touch of glitter to the candy cane and it was all done.

Just back from Christmas Virgil Mass.  Very nice service.    Now just to have supper and off to bed to wait and see what Santa has brought me this year..... I've been a GOOD GIRL!

Blessed Christmas to all my followers.

One last Christmas card....

Things here are progressing nicely towards the big day... my hairdresser opened today ( yes Sunday) so I now have a nice tidy 'do for the day!  And no grey... just love the Cut and Colour!   I had one last card to make ~ forgot one for some friends... so thought I'd do CAS and enter into the latest CASology challenge ~ Star.

IMG_6406

My card was made with stuff sitting on the desk... the PP a scrap from a MME pad, the strip of dark blue card from another scrap piece, the flower already made and sitting in my box of flowers and the star stamp ~ a freebie from a magazine ~ was just laying around on the table.  It all came together nicely and I finished it with an Inkadinkado sentiment.    Added a bit of silver stickles to the stars to added some sparkle.

No Red Carpet Studio post today... we are taking a break.... but will be back next Sunday with a card and Layout combined challenge.    But I'll be back tomorrow with a Mygrafico card... with a Christmas card I made and have since sold...so would love if you get time to pop by and see it... if not... wishing you a happy Christmas
