Something a little green

Last week's word over at CASology was GREEN.   I played around with some ideas...and came up with this

CASology ~ Green

I stamped the Inkadinkado bird with Archival Coffee ink and then laid a negative mask and stamped the Hero Arts wood design background.  I then I distressed with two shades of distress inks.   I then stamped the Hero Arts sentiment.  I edged the panel with distress and layered it onto the card base.

My bags are packed and I'm already to go.... off tomorrow evening to Australia.... Mooloolaba here we come!  I hope to get to meet up with Paula who lives near where we are going.

So I won't be able to do much blog hopping... although I have a few auto posts  ~  Red Carpet Studio Premiere is this weekend.  Do pop in and visit.

Mygrafico Monday Feature~ Back to School

Monday again and it's another feature over at Mygrafico.  Our Back to School challenge is still on here... and this week we are showcasing this wonderful set by Sweet Chic.

It has some delightful images and is prefect for Back to School projects.  I enjoyed use it so much I ended up doing three projects....

First up... some bookmarks.  I made these for the daughters of two of my workmates.  I googled some quotes to finish them off.  The background paper is included in the kit.

Next up, a teacher thank you card.

I have been using Word to make my cards.  I'm learning how to layer and make backgrounds transparent.    I gave this card to Alia (who is 5 and in her first year at primary school) to give to her teacher.

And finally I did a very CAS card.

These images are superb to play with.   I am entering these cards into Simon Says Stamping  ~ Back to School challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget our challenge.

Love the colour Purple

Today's card came about with me playing around with fabric.  I needed to make a card using fabric for my upcoming challenge over at Die Cut Diva's...  ( an early notification for any of you who play with us over there).  I had some cotton type fabric that I picked up at Spotlight and I used a Spellbinders die to cut out some of the flowers in the Carnation die set.... I went to spray them with some gold Pearlised water.... but they picked up the Purple dye on the base of my spray box and went a pretty lilac colour....

So decided to use Hero Arts sketch (loosely)

Birthday Wishes

And as I made my own embellishment, it's a double whammy for Hero Arts Challenge.
The background was stamped with HA Chevron stamp and Milled Lavender distress inks.  I used Spellbiners circles and a Die-Namics label for the sentiment banner.  The sentiment is also from a Hero Arts set.

I am also entering this into the Anything Floral/Handmade Flowers challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

I've been busy working on some of my cards for upcoming challenges over at Red Carpet Studio.   Opening Premiere weekend starts 31 August, so do come over and join us.   The first challenge starts 2 Sept.

Hope you all had a great weekend... I've had a great time getting inky.  Only 4 days of work then my holiday starts!!!!!  yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

Over the Top!

Today I want to share a card with you.... that really is OTT..

OTT Whimsy Fairy

Not my usual style at all!  But I got the stamp set with this pretty little fairy with a Magazine
~Australian Simply Cards and the girls at stamping on Saturday, challenged me to make a card similar to the ones in the magazine... lots of layers, PP, flowers etc...  I stamped the little Fairy and coloured with Copics.  PP's are from Pink Paislee and a freebie pack.  Used Lace and ribbon, hand made flower, purchased flowers, punched butterfly and a die cut corner flourish   - whew just tiring listing them all.... but it finally came together.   It is good to challenge yourself to do something that is outside your comfort zone.    I really like my cards much simpler.
Edited:
thanks to Barb for pointing out my card is great for Moxie Fab World's  Asymmetry challenge.  I think I did get some good balance here.... so into the mix it goes.  Moxie Fab World are challenge us to try out some the the design techniques in the Card Design Handbook.  Think I need to get this book!

Thanks for visiting today.  Hope that your week is going well.  The weekend is nearly here and then only 7 days till the holiday... can you tell I'm getting excited!
